Marcoms: USB keys

We introduced USB keys with some great features. The aim of the USB key is to feature specific tailor made content per client visit. The company’s image is seen to personalise client meetings.  The USB’s shape obviously relates to property ownership.

The contents of the USB key varied per meeting. It normally held: 1 generic or tailor made company presentation, PDF’s of select properties divided by region, an outlook and Gmail contact card, a text / PDF business card, including a photo of the sales agent and a QR code that would download a VCF file.

The look of the USB key itself was simple. Company name, email & website.

New Product Launches & Marcom Channels

Marcoms Improvement 

  • The idea was to synergise all marcoms and to generate higher quality inbound inquiries.
  • The second aim was to reduce the on-line text written by the sales agents, so to spent their time more efficiently.
  • The next step was to implement a bespoke PDF property presentation [as seen below]
    • For consistency, we introduced  shorter CMS data fields into the CRM.
    • This was to move the workforce to a uniform approach of selling their products.
  • The result: Enough basic information is presented in the PDF to the client. Any further clarification would need to be clarified via ‘phone contact.
    • Thus, the motive was to stimulate higher quality and the number of in-bound inquiries from genuinely interested clients.
  • Finally, the concept was to introduce easy to understand icons to represent the product’s features.

PDF After

The PDF after was scaled to two pages with highlighted product features at the top of the document. Icons were used for the product’s features. Future development of the PDF is to include higher calls to action. However, there are technical issues auto generating PDF documents as the text to character count cannot account for formatting e.g: paragraph markup. The present fail-safe is a manual check by the author and the marketing department.

Keyword Optimisation nearly 1 year after completion.

Outline: Very short time to optimise niche keywords. Competition was very heavy going against O’Reilly’s Web 2 yearly conference. My strategy was to focus on specific niche words overlooked by the media giant.     1. I would probably use my FB page with my social media links as Twitter doesn’t allow many links. I’d refer users to my homepage using twitter.
